The Estate
The vineyard is located in the Etna DOC appellation, in the village of Castiglione di Sicilia, Sicily, on the slopes of the volcano. It is located in the Contrada "Feudo di Mezzo"(premier Cru). The characteristic of this Contrada is that it is the largest of the denomination and also has different types of microclimate
.
Winemaking
Alcoholic fermentation : 20-25° for 7/10 days
Aging : 225L and 500L barrel for 12 months. Alcohol content : 14,5%.
Production : 950 numbered bottles
Viticulture
Organic certified farming and biodynamic viticulture practices


The grape variety
The grape variety is Nerello Mascalese, an autochthonous grape variety of the region, it is a late ripening variety.
Wine Tasting
The colour is garnet with aromas of black cherry, licorice and tobacco by the ageing process with a note of flintstone.
The palate is medium in structure and fresh with aromas of black fruits such as cherry and blackcurrant. The finish is persistent and mineral due to the volcanic soil.

Aged in oak barrels
For 12 months in 225 and 500 litres barrel from the Cadus barrel factory to smooth the tannins

Medium bodied and fresh wine with red fruit aromas and a persistent mineral finish given by the volcanic soil
